After the energy and curiosity sparked by our first event, it was clear that the SaugaTech community was ready for more â and our second meetup, held at the Mississauga Valley Community Centre, delivered in every way.
Once again, we were joined by 20+ experienced tech professionals, this time representing a powerhouse mix of backgrounds including banking, fintech, wealth management, medical software, SaaS, and Content management . Itâs becoming clear that Mississauga is home to a vibrant, thoughtful, and deeply technical community â all eager to share, learn, and grow together.

The highlight of the afternoon was a fantastic talk by Aries Youssefian, who dove into the real-world tactics and mindset shifts required to ship fast as a startup â without sacrificing quality or burning out your team.
From prioritization frameworks, infrastructure and tech stack options and code ownership models to the cultural importance of embracing âgood enoughâ over perfect â Aries shared hard-earned lessons from the trenches of product-building. The talk struck a chord with many in the room, especially those juggling speed, scale, and sanity in fast-paced environments.

Monolith vs Microservices: Is speed better served by a tightly coupled codebase or the scalability of decoupled services? Attendees made strong cases for both â citing startup velocity, DevOps overhead, and real-world maintainability.
Python vs Everything Else: A fun and slightly fiery chat around whether Python is still the king for startups â or if TypeScript, Go, Rust, or even Kotlin are better suited depending on the context.
Release Frequency: We unpacked the tension between CI/CD ideals and enterprise realities. Should you ship 10x a day, or is a weekly, stable release better when serving regulated industries?
It wasnât about winning arguments â it was about perspective. And thatâs what made it great.
